What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mission Peak Regional Preserve is lauded for its challenging yet rewarding hikes and breathtaking panoramic views of the Bay Area. Visitors appreciate the stunning natural beauty, especially the lush green hills in spring, and the sense of accomplishment upon reaching the summit. However, the limited and often difficult parking, along with the lack of amenities like restrooms and water stations on the trail, are common drawbacks.
"I did this hike with my uncle, and it was one of the best! The trail ranges from moderate to hard, with several route options depending on how much challenge you want. There aren’t any restrooms along the trail, and the portable ones at the start are quite dirty, so plan ahead. Parking can also be a bit tricky. Still, the beauty of the area, the stunning views along the way, and the sense of challenge make it all worth it! Definitely one of the best outdoor activities around the Bay Area. 🌿🏞️"

"Gorgeous park!! Miles of hiking through varied terrain. Tons of wildlife to see. Beautiful views of the bay over the salt flats."

"One of the best places to hike in the bay. It’s the most difficult as well compared to the other hikes nearby. The steep mountain trail especially in the last 1 mile challenges you a lot. But breaking a sweat is worth it as the views you get from this peak is the best. You will see the entire Bay Area from the peak and it worth every struggle.
Ps- be prepared to struggle for parking. Since it has limited parking space people usually find it hard to park their cars. Fortunately there is Franklin st where people usually park and walk towards this trail. Also this place has no restrooms and water refill stations anywhere in the trail apart from the starting point."
