It's a popular spot for families and field trips, offering a fun way to explore science and technology. However, some guests have noted that certain exhibits may be out of order, which can detract from the experience.
"Great option for kids to have many hands on activities. I was even surprised that the layout kept going into a back area with more activities. Seems like most kids weren't back there. Both kids (5 and 7) enjoyed it a lot and would have stayed longer than the 1.5 hours we were there."

"I brought my granddaughter while fall break in Plano was going on and had an awesome time exploring with her. As a 5 year old it’s important to have interactive experiences. We went when it opened so it wasn’t crowded and we weren’t rushed off of each adventure. She absolutely love it. She didn’t want to leave. The area with the teacher and hands on learning was the best part. She was amazing. I’d say this would be a great space to bring your children."

"My family and I were in town visiting, and we came across this discovery center. We have visited a few and have always had a great experience. My son was excited to go in and play however was disappointed when he realized some of the activities weren’t working or set up at all. He was most excited for this kids market, but tea mixed it was a complete mess and was very unmotivated to play. This was very disappointing. We paid $30 to enter and feel as if it was just a waste of money. I expected so much more from this place, but we will not be returning."

Hands-On Learning Philosophy
Many exhibits are designed to be interactive and engaging, allowing kids to experiment with physics, build structures, explore anatomy, and even race cars they've constructed. This direct involvement helps solidify learning in a fun and memorable way. The goal is to make science and technology accessible and exciting for all ages, demystifying complex subjects through tangible experiences.
This philosophy is particularly effective for early elementary-aged children, as highlighted by parents and educators. The ability to touch, manipulate, and see the direct results of their actions makes abstract concepts concrete. It's this very aspect that keeps children engaged and eager to discover more, often leading to them wanting to stay longer than planned.
The Pogo Pass Advantage
Using a Pogo Pass for Sci-Tech Discovery Center means you can enjoy all the interactive exhibits and hands-on activities without worrying about separate admission fees. This is especially beneficial for families with multiple children or those who enjoy frequent outings. The pass is designed to provide exceptional value, turning a potentially expensive day of fun into a cost-effective adventure.
To take advantage of this offer, visitors can often use promotional codes at checkout for discounted pricing. It's a smart strategy for budget-conscious travelers and locals alike who want to experience the best of what the DFW metroplex has to offer, including educational and entertaining spots like Sci-Tech.
Navigating Visitor Experiences
However, some reviews indicate that exhibit maintenance can be an issue. A few visitors have noted that certain activities were not working or were in disarray, leading to disappointment, especially after paying admission fees. This inconsistency can detract from the overall experience, as some children may be particularly excited about specific exhibits that are unavailable.
Despite these occasional drawbacks, the overall sentiment remains favorable, with many families finding the center to be a worthwhile destination. The key to a great visit often lies in managing expectations and focusing on the many engaging exhibits that are in good working order. Visiting during less crowded times, like weekday mornings, can also enhance the experience.
