"This is about a 6-mile round trip hike. For people who don’t hike often this will be moderately difficult. The hike is steep and really rocky. If you can do it, DO IT. The view on the top is so worth it. We timed it and it was exactly 2.89 miles and did it in 1 hr and 45 minutes. Going down will feel like a breeze. Enjoy🥰"

"Lava Lake Trail is a rewarding hike with stunning views—well worth the effort!
It’s a good long trek that can be a bit strenuous at times, but the scenery makes it all worthwhile. I had the pleasure of hiking it in winter and absolutely loved the peaceful, snow-covered landscape.
If you’re going during colder months, I highly recommend wearing ice cleats or traction devices—some sections get very icy. Dress in layers, bring water and snacks, and give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the trail and the lake at the top.
A truly beautiful hike any time of year, and a must-do if you're in the area!"

"Trail through the forest alongside a stream. Trail is a little rocky so I wish I had worn hiking boots vs tennis shoes. About 3 miles up to a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. People were fishing and swimming. It took me hour and 15 min up and an hour down but I was going fast.
I parked across the river and had to walk along the highway bridge to get to trailhead. Thankfully there were other people doing the same thing so I followed them. There's a parking spots close to trailhead but limited parking spots there."
