Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning natural beauty and well-maintained carriage trails, perfect for easy walks and family outings. The visitor center is appreciated for its informative exhibits and clean facilities. However, weekend crowds and parking can be a significant deterrent, with waits sometimes exceeding an hour.
"Beautiful place for a hike or just to see the nature . I went when it was pretty windy so I think during the summer or early fall months would be so much nicer !
The visitation center itself just gives you a glimpse of its historic background , and there’s a small little spot to buy stuff in case you need anything .
Bathrooms are very clean .
I took my 3 year old and she loved it just be very careful when you reach the edges , there’s no barrier or anything .
I heard you can also dip in a lake near by but I can’t remember the exact place .
To enter without a park holder pass its $10 per vehicle and it’s around $5 with the pass.
You can stay as long as you want & I noticed you lose signal half way up the road before reaching the lake itself so I suggest downloading the map to avoid getting lost ."

"Beautiful! We tried on the weekend (Sunday around 10am) and the lot was full. Came back later and it was an hour long wait to get to the parking lot. Returned on a Wednesday morning around 9am and there was hardly anyone there. The trails are wide and gravel (called carriage trails) so if you have a more rugged stroller, you could even take that. The views were spectacular. About halfway around there was even a flat open area with picnic tables. Could not recommend this place more."

"This is a very well done center. The trails are very well maintained and marked. The carriage trails were interesting. Never really knew much about the Catskills and tourism, so this was well worth the time spent. Hiked out to Gertrudes nose, a difficult hike, but the views along the way we're very amazing."
