"No matter which route you take, the trip up is steep. But ... the view is incredible ... just something you don't find anymore. Great place to do as a day hike when you only have an afternoon to do something. Public lake and swimming area at the bottom, Pine Grove Furnace state park with swimming and camping maybe 2 miles away."

"Beautiful scenery from the top in September. I think there are tougher trails in the area for sure but this is no running path by any means. Expect a rocky hike the whole way to the top including some natural stair sets, but well worth the climb"

"The parking for Pole Steeple Trail lot is along the lake which was a nice view. As we were looking across for wildlife, we spotted what looked like it a golden eagle. The parking lot was clean, but small, and the trail starts just outside the lot itself. There was plenty of foot traffic and a large number of dogs we winked at along the way. The trail was easy to follow with a couple benches to rest if you need it. The trail is about 1.4 miles one way. The view at the top was fantastic. About 180 panorama with a nice updraft that brought us many leaves floating by. We cleaned up a few pieces of litter while there, but overall there's not much in the way of graffiti that we see at some places. Overall, it was a great view, a short but moderate hike (for a non-hiker) and will go on my list to try and get there a week sooner in the season next time. Definitely recommended"

Fall hikers should exercise extra caution, as fallen leaves can obscure rocks and create slippery conditions. While the hike is considered moderate, it's not a casual walk and requires sturdy footwear. The connection to the Appalachian Trail (AT) offers an opportunity for longer treks for experienced hikers, but it's crucial to stay aware of your route to avoid accidentally straying onto the AT.
Key takeaway: Choose the trail that best suits your fitness level and always wear appropriate footwear. Pay attention to trail markers, especially if you're venturing near the AT.

Despite its popularity, many visitors find the experience to be peaceful, especially if they visit during off-peak times.
