Road closure
Hello!! Iβm coming to Gatlinburg in the next few weeks. It looks like the hikes I had previously picked out (Clingmans Dome, Alum Cave to Mount Leconte) will be hard to access with Newfound Gap Road being closed. Any good trails with views that will be accessible?

"Paved parking lot, easy walk / hike on gravel, dirt. Pretty river w/ rocks to view.
We had gone to the cabins at night since we thought it would be fun.
Cool history, worth a stop if you want to enjoy some fresh air and stretch your legs!"

"We ended up here by accident when our original planned trail had no parking available. We passed this and saw open parking and decided to give it a try and it was a pleasant surprise! Cool little historic stop with parking lot and a cabin. There is a nature trail that is about a mile. Not too difficult but if you do the full mile loop, you do climb over a few creeks, boulders, roots, etc. But there's some beautiful scenery! It was challenging fun enough for my 8.5 year to enjoy while still doable for my 2.5 year old to do (with some help).
Only downside, no restrooms here."
Cheryl
"Nice hike with my family, pretty easy and great views. We walked to the mill and back then checked out both cabins."
