Pride was horrible for me, why’d it move?

I liked August Pride in Alton Baker. I assume there was a good reason to move it to the fairgrounds, but charging admission and having it in a fenced in, small, mostly inside area was horrible for me personally. The noise was really bad for me because I’ve got hit in the head a…

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Cotton Pickin' Fair for its incredible variety of unique local crafts, delicious food, and lively atmosphere. Many enjoy supporting small businesses and finding one-of-a-kind treasures. While some find food prices a bit high and crowds can be substantial, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many returning year after year.

"I go every year to see what new wonderful things are @englishrosesdesigns!! But just walking around & having a beer & seeing all the goodies is pretty awesome too! My boyfriend & I always have fun!"

Arielle Christine

"A lot of people! But, it was fun walking around and seeing all of the vendors with original stuff from macramé to wooden toys and anything else you could imagine. The food was great, though more expensive than I would like to have paid, but what fair doesn’t have expensive food?

The thing that really got my attention is that the animal shelter was at the entrance with a pet adoption drive, and people were adopting. I was also impressed with the music and atmosphere. Good times!

They have the fair in May and October, go to the website for more information. And come to the fair, now called “The Cotton Fair.”"

"We like to go to this each time they’re open during the year (Spring/Summer and Fall). There’s always so much to see and do!! You never know what you’ll find here and that’s part of the fun. Come hungry, with a bit of cash in your pocket, and be energy to explore. Lots of locally crafted items, local farmers, local honey, meats and the list goes on. Truly a great way to support local small businesses. It’s awesome that there’s a brewery ON SITE. You really can make a day of it (or a weekend!). If you timed it right you could get all of your holiday shopping in the fall. Seriously there’s something for everyone here. We purchased an address sign one year and another year a compass for the house. We also like to pick up local honey, pickles, hot sauces, desserts, and even sausage!! Bring the family - they have activities for kids too. Everyone will be happy!"
