Insider Tips

from TikTok, Instagram & Reddit

Part 2 of #diving Goldfish point and checking the Sunny Jim cave out. The water is “warm” until even October so if you think you’re too late don’t worry. If it’s 72 F or below I recommend a wetsuit. 72 you could wear a T-shirt but it’ll get chilly quick. Do not go in the ocean if you don’t know how to swim ⚠️

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the incredibly scenic views and abundant wildlife at Goldfish Point, making it a top spot for photography and nature observation. While the beauty is undeniable, some reviews mention issues with aggressive owners at nearby establishments and caution about cliff safety for young children.

"Very scenic viewpoint. Park along Coast Blvd or up on Prospect. No dog buddies between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM, even with a leash. Some younger daring people enjoy cliff diving here, but you should swim first so you can see where the rocks are hiding. For some dramatic photos, arrive about an hour before sunset and remember to turn on your flash for good fill on the faces. Sorry, there's no wheelchair ramps here. Parents with young kids are advised to remain behind the gated railings. There are cliffs all around."

"The man who took our order was very nice, and the food was good. The owner of the building was horrible!! I took the wrong food and came back and said “oh I’m so sorry I grabbed the wrong plate.” After waiting for my food for 20 minutes after my groups food was already brought out. After he proceeds to yell at one of my group members and said “ you’re dismissed, you’re dismissed.” The inter place looked embarrassed and the cashier apologized but the owner never did. If you go here steer clear of the owner."
