"Incredible courthouse with French 2nd Empire style with beautiful Texas sandstone. The wooden blinds inside the courtroom are definitely worth admiring, so is the massive safe. The county was named after Confederate general John Bell Hood. After having been severely wounded during the war, with an amputated leg and a paralyzed arm, he ended up dying days after his wife from the yellow fever in 1878 in New Orleans, leaving his ten surviving children orphaned and penniless. They were all eventually adopted by different families in the US."
