The friendly staff and the opportunity to touch and explore artifacts are frequently highlighted as positive aspects, making it a recommended destination for families and history enthusiasts alike. "The visit to Cross Orchards is an experience that I will never forget. It contains not only the history of the Orchards but also a bit of history on trucks and construction equipment. My favorite part of the visit was being able to see and board the old Uintah Railway cars that are on display. I also enjoyed looking at the Grand Valley Model Railroad. I love history, I also love trains, and this place fulfills both of my interests."
Robert Emmons
"This is a wonderful place to bring kids to learn about early twentieth century agricultural history, or to take a nostalgic trip back to a bygone era of trains and fruit trees. Exploring the train was fun, learning more about the orchards was fascinating, and it was enjoyable to see how harvesters and farmhands used to live up to the end of World War II. Families and school field trips are most of the target audience. Highly recommended!"

"This is a very fun open-air historic site. Our family wandered around for almost 2 hours, and it was really fun to show our kids how the technology of the early 1900s worked. The interpretation that was available was great. There were a few spots where I wished there had been more information about specific fascinating-looking objects. But overall an excellent place to visit for either history or technology enthusiasts. It really brings the experiences of people from the past to life, and it's awesome to be able to touch everything, lay on old beds, etc."
