What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Grapevine Golf Course is widely praised for its excellent conditions, scenic lake views, and challenging 27-hole layout, making it a top choice in the DFW area. While booking tee times can be competitive and the cart return policy requires attention, the overall golfing experience and value are highly recommended. Some visitors noted the pro shop staff could be friendlier, but this is often overshadowed by the quality of the course itself.
"Really great golf course, 27 holes. A bit challenging but fun. Great amenities and very nice pro-shop. Nice riding carts with GPS"

"I have played this course many times. First and foremost yea it’s hard to get on here if you want to play you have to book 6 days in advance and that’s still no guarantee. But it’s worth the hassle in my opinion. 27 holes and each course is tons of fun. There are some challenging holes but for the most part any golfer will enjoy playing here. The greens and fairways are in great shape. The range and tee boxes are ok not great. The breakfast is delicious and persimmons is nice and spacious. Great place to grab a after round meal. Highly recommend playing here."

"What a pleasant facility and course in the Dallas area. The clubhouse area is insane. Nice pro shop. Good driving range. And three 9 hole set ups that make for any combination of 18 holes for a great and challenging round.
Condition was phenomenal all around from great fairways and greens and tee boxes.
Just awesome from tee to green with just a little residue of mowed grass clippings most likely because of recent rains. But it would be hard to find a nicer course in the area.
The only drawback on anything related to this course is the pro shop staff. Super unfriendly and stiff. Just no engagement or pleasantries while we were dropping $70 each for 6 golfers. No smiles. No welcome. No “enjoy our course and your round”. Nothing. Whoever runs this place, you’d be better served if you gave these two gentleman some etiquette classes and personality tips. Probably two of the worst personalities we’ve ever come across.
Outside of that, this is a must play when in the area. Just a phenomenal facility."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Consider visiting during off-peak hours or on weekdays to avoid larger crowds. The driving range and putting greens could also offer a fun, casual activity for older children interested in golf. However, the course itself is designed for golfers, so younger children might find it less engaging unless they are accompanying adult golfers.
💰 Budget Travelers
To maximize value, look for weekday tee times or consider twilight rates, though be mindful of the cart return policy. Packing your own snacks and drinks can also help manage costs, though the clubhouse offers good food and cold beer.
🏌️ Avid Golfers
Booking in advance is non-negotiable for avid golfers aiming for prime tee times. The GPS-equipped carts are a welcome amenity for those who prefer riding. Be prepared for excellent greens and fairways, and perhaps a less-than-stellar welcome from the pro shop staff, but focus on the quality of the golf itself.

The Grapevine Golf Experience
The course is lauded for its phenomenal condition, with well-maintained greens, fairways, and tee boxes that are a pleasure to play on. The scenic beauty is another major draw, with some holes offering stunning views of Lake Grapevine, adding a picturesque element to the game.
Beyond the fairways, the facility includes a pleasant clubhouse with a nice pro shop, a spacious dining area, a driving range, and putting/chipping greens. Modern GPS-equipped riding carts enhance the player experience. Despite some minor critiques regarding pro shop staff friendliness, the overall consensus is that Grapevine Golf Course is a must-play destination for golfers in the DFW area.
Booking and Course Policies
A key policy to be aware of is the cart return time. For twilight rounds, carts must be returned to the clubhouse by a specific time, which can sometimes cut a round short if not factored into your tee-off time. Some visitors have expressed frustration with this policy, suggesting that tee times sold after a certain hour should be pro-rated or that the policy should be more clearly communicated upfront.
While the course itself receives high marks for its condition and playability, a recurring point of feedback concerns the pro shop staff, who some visitors have found to be unfriendly or lacking in pleasantries. Despite this, the overall golfing experience and the quality of the course often outweigh this minor drawback for many players.
