Reviews Summary
Great Wolf Lodge offers a fun-filled indoor water park experience that families adore, with many praising the attentive staff and themed suites. However, some guests have raised concerns about cleanliness and the high cost of additional activities and dining, suggesting a need for careful budgeting and expectation management.
"Great Wolf Lodge has always been good to us. We usually get the Majestic Bear Suite that gives our little girl her own room which allows my wife and I most of the suite to hang out after she's asleep with a wonderful balcony.
At the waterpark, Danielle who helped us check into our cabana was amazing! She looked into who we were and made sure we had the perfect cabana near the activities our little girl would want to do. Mark, who handles entry is so fantastic. Absolutely hilarious. Always with a smile but keeps order and makes sure everyone gets in as quickly and safely as possible.
My one MINOR complaint would be these days Fireside is only open for dinner where I used to go there for brunch and lunch regularly. But the buffet across the way isn't half bad.
Thank you to all the staff who make our stay wonderful. The shoutouts are just those who really went well above and beyond every time we visit."

"I planned a weekend with my family here after my son was invited to a friend’s birthday. Since all lodge rooms were sold out, we booked the Family Den Suite in the Mountain Towers (the newly renovated part of the Lodge). It was a bit of a walk, but the room was clean and cozy, with a separate bunk bed area for the kids.
We didn’t book a package. The Lodge offers plenty of activities throughout the day—some come with extra fees (a few are quite pricey), but it’s nice to have the choice. The water park is fun, though you’ll need patience for the lines. The ropes course is a must-try—definitely worth it if you’re brave enough!
Check-in was rough; the self-check system was down and it took almost 2 hours. On the upside, restaurants nearby make food options convenient.
Overall, it’s a place not to be missed. You’ll need more than a weekend—and a decent budget—to enjoy everything. My whole family had a great time!"

"We only stayed for one night but definitely could’ve did two. First all the staff we encountered were friendly and check in was VERY smooth. Also our room was ready when we arrived at two which was an added bonus. I was pleasantly surprised at how many water slides we could do with our three year old. She wasn’t just restricted to the kiddie side. The lifeguards were very attentive and helpful. The food definitely could’ve been higher quality especially for the price but I think that was expected. We loved traveling during the week as there were no lines for any of the attractions. We’ll definitely be returning for a longer stay in November hopefully before the holidays to beat the crowds!"

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Young Children
Tips for families include packing plenty of swim diapers and sunscreen (even indoors!), and considering the Wolf Pass if your kids will enjoy the extra activities like MagiQuest and the arcade. Be prepared for the lodge's focus on younger guests, as some areas might be less engaging for older siblings or adults seeking a more relaxed experience.
💰 Budget Travelers
To save on food, pack your own snacks and drinks, and utilize the mini-fridge in your room. While dining at the lodge can be expensive, exploring nearby restaurants for meals can offer better value. For activities, prioritize the included water park access and choose only one or two paid attractions that your family will most enjoy, rather than purchasing every add-on.
couples
Consider booking a themed suite with a balcony for a more private retreat. To avoid the peak family crowds, aim for a weekday stay during the off-season. While the water park might be less of a focus, the resort's unique environment can still offer a fun and memorable escape.

Navigating the Water Park Experience
Be prepared for potential crowds, especially during peak times. Lines for popular slides can get long, so strategic planning is key. Some guests recommend arriving early or visiting during weekdays to minimize wait times. Lifeguards are present and attentive, but it's always wise to supervise children closely.
Hygiene has been a concern for some visitors, with reports of illness and cleanliness issues. While many guests have positive experiences, it's advisable to be vigilant, practice good hygiene, and report any concerns to the staff immediately.
Beyond the Slides: Activities and Entertainment
Other popular activities include the arcade, mini-golf, and bowling. Many locations also feature a ropes course for those seeking a bit more adventure. The lodge also hosts various daily activities such as character meet-and-greets, dance parties, and story times, ensuring there's always something happening for the younger guests.
While these activities add to the overall fun, it's important to note that they contribute to the overall cost of the trip. Some guests find the add-on activities to be quite pricey, so budgeting is essential.
Understanding the Costs and Value
Reviews frequently mention that the overall cost can be high, especially when factoring in food and additional activities. Some guests feel the value is excellent for families with young children who will utilize most of the offerings, while others find it overpriced, particularly if they are not traveling with kids or if their children are older and less engaged by the typical attractions.
To maximize value, it's recommended to look for deals and packages in advance, consider visiting during the off-season or weekdays when prices are lower, and carefully budget for any add-on activities your family wishes to enjoy. Bringing your own snacks can also help mitigate food costs.
