Favorite kayaking spots
I'm getting back into kayaking and am curious what some of your favorite places to put in are? Looking for relatively local, within about a 45min -1hr drive tops. I'm very familiar with the lower Suwannee and SantaFe rivers as well as most places close to Ocala.
Can anyone offer some tips on fishing in Jax
I don’t have a boat but the kids and I love fishing, but I am at loss on how to setup the hooks so they don’t get wrecked in the surf nor do I know of any good spots. I have a sense that deeper water (casting further out) is not necessarily the best strategy.

Especially important during warmer months, bring plenty of water for your hikes.
Jacksonville fishermen/women: Fishing near Dames Point bridge this time of year. Locations and Advice?
I used to have a friend that lived out near there and we used to fish in his backyard all the time. The fishing was awesome! We would rig one line up for croaker and one line up for large redfish. We would catch decent sized croaker every few minutes (hardly any wait) while…

"Fabulous park with 10+ miles of well marked and maintained trails! There is another park right next door if this isn't enough. Spent the day here and walked every trail to find over a dozen armadillos, loads of cranes, quite a few secluded beaches, and even spotted an alligator! The trails are color coded, usually have maps at every intersection, and the benches are painted to match the trail color! Clean facilities and plenty of trash cans. There is a large boat launch, kayak rentals, and plenty of places to fish. The trails close at sundown but the dam stays open late for fishing. I didn't investigate but I believe there is an education center as well."
