"The newly refinished pier is so nice; busy with so many fishermen. My visit was bitter sweet since I went to keep a promise I had made to my husband before he passed away. The last time I had taken him there to fish, his health had already diminished his ability to walk & so being in a wheelchair he fished near the beginning of the pier, since the end had not yet been rebuilt because of the hurricane damage. It is so beautiful, and they honor us Veterans with discounts, so I was able to bring his ashes with me, to be together on the fully finished pier as I had promised we would do once it was finished❤️ THANK YOU Gulf State Park Pier for your kindness!!"
