"Visiting Silver City, NM, and drove by the huge historic copper mine. One of the oldest surface mines in the country. Silver City was created because of mining.

I was totally fascinated."

"Interesting to see, would be cool to see a video with drone footage of all the mine. And, couldn't see to the bottom, too many obstructions."
Sam Torrez
"This was a beautiful drive out to the highway overlook on Hwy152. Don't follow Google directions, it will take you to the actual mine entrance which is not acceptable to the public. The interpretive signs at the pullout overlook are very informative and we were able to see many for the VERY LARGE dump trucks pass by. The drivers would think and wave. Was great to learn about coal mining history which continues to this day and this is a beautiful scenic drive."
