What are your favorite off the beaten path places/sights along/near the coast of Maine?
I will be riding down the coat of Maine on a world cycling trip towards Argentina (then boating to Africa). I want to create a multifacetted travelogue along the way, to supplement any travel guide, that highlights locals' and visitors' favorite places/experiences/people,…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the spectacular cliffside views and the beautiful blue-green water at Harpswell Cliff Trail. The accessible path is a major plus for many, while the main loop offers a rewarding workout for those seeking a challenge. Some note the trail can be rooty and rocky, and recommend allowing ample time for the full hike.
"Wonderful trail, lots of roots if you do the non-accesible part of the trail. Took me longer than an hour to do about half of the trail but I did take a lot of pictures! Parking lot was very close to trailhead, friendly people, not too busy on a weekday. I'd definitely do this trail often if I lived in the area. Beautiful!"

"This is the first hike we’ve done this week where there weren’t bugs! The other 2 we did had an insane amount of ticks and/ or mosquitos biting the entire time. Happy to say this was a very enjoyable experience. The water is a beautiful blue/green. The first .4mi is handicap/stroller accessible which is great so others can see the views of this water. There’s a spot to build fairy houses along the way :) We did the whole trail around and it ended up being 2.25mi. Some spots had a good incline. All worth it for the incredible views. Highly recommend!"

"The main loop, Cliff Trail, is 2.3 miles and marked in YELLOW blazes. The shorter Cut-off Trail, 0.4 miles long, is marked in BLUE blazes and intersects with the Cliff Trail. the trail is a backcountry style trail with rooty and rugged sections, elevation gain, some switchbacks over rocks and slight scrambling, leading you to spectacular views from 150-foot cliffs overlooking Long Reach."
