While some amenities may be temporarily unavailable due to ongoing upgrades, the park's natural beauty and recreational offerings, like disc golf and nearby canoeing, are highly appreciated. The earlier checkout time is a minor point of contention for some.
"Beautiful state of Mississippi campground. Just renovated. New paved camp sites, some with a fenced in patio. Gorgeous views and very well maintained. Large disc golf course & picnic grounds. Full hookups. Highly recommend."

"Just came back from this park. The only reason I give it a 4 is that they are doing renos. The store, splash pad and the bathroom nearest to our campsite(50) was closed. All of the campsites were repaved - very large with lots of room. Water pressure was great and hookups stable. We also went canoeing with black creek rentals just down the street. The guy was really informative and nice. For 40 bucks we had a great afternoon on the river with our dog."

"Beautiful park. The new renovations to the camper sites are perfect. Only reason I did not give five stars is becuase of the earlier than normal checkout time they have. Normally at 2pm instead it is at 11am for "site preparation". This time does rush you slightly when packing up and leaving compared to all other state parks. Not sure why it is only at this park."
