"I was visiting Lake Charles labor day weekend and did this on the fly, just quick google search and I was on the way with no expectations of any kind of experience that I might have.
It's an amazing experience and a must try if your not from this area.
You check in at a little convenience/ gift shop type store that's attached to a bar and grill. The bar seemed to be a locals hang out. The captain which was Sal or Cal ( can't remember) was great and from the area , he was very knowledgeable and proud of his land. For me the seeing the water line on the trees was really cool and the entire space was beautiful with birds flying around and just great scenery. And yes you do see alligators, the captain takes you to his honey hole where you will probably meet Hercules and a bunch of other gators."

"This was my second tour with this awesome place. Capt Cal was truly the best tour guide I’ve had yet. I took my family along with another family on a tour in late June and he took us to all the good gator spots. He had a deep knowledge of the area and told us about the history of the Atchafalaya basin. We had a wild experience watching “Hercules” eat another small gator (a bit graphic for the little ones, but an experience we will never forget)! This boat was good for big groups (we had 9 booked) and the facility is great to hang out before/after at the grill/bar. I’ll definitely come back for more"

"We brought my sister and brother in law on the tour. They are visiting from California. Beautiful scenery and just a relaxing trip on the water. When Captain Kelly stopped the boat the gators swam up to greet him. It was really something. Everyone was friendly and personable. Makes you feel welcome. Highly recommend Atchafalaya Basin Landing Airboat Swamp tour!"
