Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunningly clear, beautiful blue waters and the refreshing 72°F temperature, making it a gem for swimming and snorkeling. The inexpensive entry fee and natural beauty are major draws, though the bumpy, unpaved road to the park and the cold water can be drawbacks for some. Reddit

"We arrived at Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park via kayaks on the Santa Fe River. The spring run is absolutely beautiful. The water is so clear, and the vegetation beneath makes beautiful colors. Naked Spring was roped off for protective measures. The head spring was noisy and busy. There was a "kayak lane" made of buoys around the swimming area. I wouldn't drive to the park to swim at the head spring, but kayaking the run is definitely nice!"

Erica Brough

"Beautiful blue spring, with a sandy bottom. Most of the swimming area is on the more shallow side but it is quite deep over the spring head. There is a area sectioned off right where you enter the water for if you're launching to paddle. A scattering of picnic pavilions. Nice nature trail which allows you to see other small springs in the park that they are working to restore."

Christina M

"Beautiful springs, another gem of FL! Be mindful that the drive to the actual springs is not yet paved. There is a small entrance fee. Always check the FL Statepark website before you go. Right now (June2025), there is only one entrance to the swim area. We did not see any sign that there is a capacity limit, but just try to go early. The springs is just beauty. Our kiddos enjoyed the 72-degree cold water. Plenty of area to place your things just like you are going to the beach. They also has 🏕 camping area. Picnics are available by the top of the park, first come, first serve. I highly recommend this springs!"
