Lived in Portland 10 years and have never been to a Mcmenamins. Which one would you suggest for a first timer?
I know they get ALOT of hate but I want to experience one. I'm open to any of them in the pdx area. I'd love for it to have some cool art or a uniqueness to it. I tried searching the sub already and couldn't find much from the last couple of years. Thank you!
Night life in Hillsboro?
Might be a long shot but is there any clubs/cool bars to check out? Im here for two weeks so this is a good chance to get out of my comfort zone. Thanks 😎

What is your most favorite McMenamins place?
I personally like the Rock Creek and Rock Creek for hanging out. I also like visiting Edgefield for the concerts. I know McMenamins gets some hate in r/Portland for being overpriced and having mediocre food.

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors frequently praise the unique atmosphere of the historic farmstead, the delicious Cajun tots, and the quality of house-made beers and spirits. The outdoor seating with fire pits is a notable highlight. While generally positive, some reviews mention occasional slow service or minor inconsistencies in food preparation.
"One of the McMenamins we enjoy frequently visiting to grab a meal, a drink, and/or a snack. Super fun to try the various beers they make as well as their whiskey. The food is pretty good and they do have a seasonal menu. The cajun tots are a big reason we eat here and I'd highly recommend trying them. The option for indoor and outdoor seating is nice depending on the season. If you're sitting outdoors they usually have the fire pits running. The white shed is also great if you're looking for to grab a beer, whiskey, or wine outdoors and/or cigars. The service can be a little slow depending on how busy they are. Definitely a great place to take people that are visiting along with many other McMenamins locations."

"Reuben sandwich was very, very good. Meat was tender, kraut was not overpowering, just overall a great lunch. Pretzel appetizer with beer cheese dip was a must. Server was personable and attentive. Love visiting this location every time we are in town."
