Many appreciate the free admission and the opportunity to support conservation through the gift shop. Some minor inconveniences have been noted regarding temporary building or trail closures for maintenance.
"This place is fantastic! We were visiting from out of state and found this on the map. The nature center itself is really nice to see and the young lady working was very friendly, knowledgeable, and told us about the main Outdoor Discovery Center location (also worth exploring if in the area). They have turtles, snakes, frogs, a bunny, and a rescue owl! Very clean facilities too.
The trails are beautiful and fun to explore. This was an awesome find and definitely will return again when visiting this area of Michigan."

"The services and buildings are closed for COVID-19, but the trails are still accessible and very enjoyable. Most of it is boardwalk, so you can even take a stroller if you like. There are a few offshoot trails to make it a little more of an adenture. There are a couple of stop offs at a small pond where you are bound to see a bunch of turtles (some fairly big) and some small fish. At a slow pace, you can go through the whole thing in about an hour. I have taken my kids here a couple of times and they really enjoy it."
Josh Hunt
"I've been happily visiting here since I was a kid. There are beautiful trails through wooded areas, a replica settlers house to explore, and much to learn about local wildlife conservation. Inside the learning center you can find many live, local animals. The best part is it is all free, but be sure to buy something from their cute giftshop to support conservation."
