What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Patriot Park West Homewood is highly praised for its exceptional accessibility, modern amenities, and family-friendly atmosphere. Visitors love the inclusive playground, splash pad, and clean facilities. A minor concern was raised about a small fence gap, but overall, it's considered a well-maintained and enjoyable community space.
"Handicapped accessible, which is always a plus! A very big updated park with lots of activities & good pieces of equipment. A really nice covered pavilion with clean bathrooms. Some terrain was concrete, artificial grass & the rubber flooring. The entire area was very accessible for wheelchairs. It is entirely surrounded by a metal fence. But my 18 month old granddaughter found a 1 foot Crack in the fence behind the bathroom & got out to the grassy area. It was too small for me so I had to yell at her mom to go out the main gate to get her. Luckily I wasnt there alone with her & she wasnt running- just walking. The civic center was right there & thankfully not a very close road, but there was a close parking lot. By the way, I was literally walking with her when this happened- there was a big garbage can in front of the hole so I couldn't see the hole, but she did & walked right through it. Luckily it turned out OK but they need to fix that gap. I tried to call but didnt get an answer. I'll keep trying."

"♿️ Very accessible park, green space. At least 2 allotted parking apots, with a ramp onto sidewalk, as well as, a ramp from the crosswalk onto the sidewalk. You can visit the restaurants in the area or the park. The entirety is paved, so it's very easy to walk or wheel, mostly level, no significant changes in the continuity of the paving.
Found another Vulcan and was really excited about that. This one is a little more modest as kids play here, but his cheeks are mostly covered.
I noticed in the play area, it is also inclusive and there is fake turf to keep your children safe. There is a teardrop type swing hat had the safety piece across the front right alongside the other swings.
There was a "secret" area with a bridge and again I found declarations of love in the form of padlocks. There are only a few, so not many know of this "tradition" yet. There were lights along this path, but the sidewalk just ends in a neighborhood on a road.
There was a second splashpad for this area above the park and that's really nice considering how busy the other area was that day.
This is a well lit park and I believe the sign said open until 10pm. Fantastic if you don't want to walk in the heat during the day.
There was a volleyball net complete with sand to play in and this is the first park with this feature I've seen yet.
Walking 3 laps is about a mile and a half. The trees and stonework are beautiful. Overall, it's just a lovely area and park in general.
There is plenty of parking in general, right in the front area of the park."
