While some visitors note a need for better maintenance and occasional unpleasant smells, the park's solitude and unique character make it a worthwhile visit for those seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience.
"This place looks very nice however needs some more maintenance and bit more cleaning. Still you you have spare time it’s great place for walk. Especially are close to the ocean it’s nice. The most peaceful. Good place for Sunday family lunch time."

"UPDATE (May 2023): This place is still so weird. I love it, with its remnants of WWII and semi-forgotten feel. Restrooms still closed.
DEC 2021 : A very strange, and very cool because of it, park that is a lot larger than one would think at first glance. Or, a lot longer. Some very intriguing structures from a recent past, lots of picnic tables and a nice covered area with built-in chessboards on the tables.
The restrooms are all still closed (Dec 2021), though there are a few outhouses.
Four baseball diamonds with cages, one or two of which are now being re-sodded.
Popular for casual fishing, but with an uncertain water quality in the area, catch-and-release seems preferable. Maybe ?"

"Large low-key park frequented mostly by locals. No lifeguards and majority of the picnic tables are exposed to direct sun. The restrooms are in working order with toilets that are stocked with toilet paper and toilets that flush with force.
There's a certain section of the park that smells like it's directly downwind of a trash dump. I like this park for the solitude. The beach has tide pools. I can't comment on the swimming conditions as I've never bothered to swim there. However, there is a small section that is protected from the open ocean."
