What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Hospital Rock's crystal-clear river pools, perfect for cooling off on hot days, and its significant historical pictographs. The well-equipped picnic area and easy access are also highly praised. Some visitors note that litter can be an issue, detracting from the pristine natural beauty.
"What a gem! We were looking for a place to cool off in mid July, as it was 100 degrees, even at 5pm. We had checked out Slick Rock recreation area first, and were severely disappointed, both in the quality of the water and the amount of people. Hospital Rock was so much better! The water is crystal clear, like something out of a movie. There are several little pools you can choose from, depending on your swimming ability/if you have little ones. There were a few groups of people, but overall not insanely crowded compared to some other areas. Perfect place for a swim! Will definitely be back. Some people did not clean up after themselves, and left some trash—hope this improves and people aim to leave no trace."

"Quick stop but very cool intact paintings. Some rock steps lead to a top view. Perfect stop to rest as well if continuing on into Sequoia National Park."

"This must be one of the greatest little finds for awesome, little watering holes, And waterfalls and swimming holes, tons of places to swim and all kinds of different little swimming ares, each better than the next, great place to have a picnic and jump in the water, absolutely pristine views. Crystal Clear water and waterfalls. Everything about it is just what you picture in a movie. So fun we couldn't wait to go back just to jump in these watering holes and have a cocktail. Other than the
Trees, this is the best part about this park and make sure you take the walk down the trails to get to the water, way worth it"
