"This vast cemetery, while in the middle of a busy metropolitan area, is a very quiet and serene place. While I was there, there was some updating going on with the grounds so some road were no accessible due to machinary. The staff though was very helpful in finding alternate way around. I specifically went to see the grave of howard hughes. You can no longer access it, though you can see it. I asked why it was closed off and the representative informed me it was due to people no acting respectfully while there. I, also, stopped by and saw the grave Gene Tierney. There is a small parking space across the road from it. I went into the office, where you can find a restroom, and spoke with the staff there is a book on sale there about the cemetery for $50. A little pricey but very beautiful and interesting. The staff in the office was also very informative and gve me tips on other interesting graves to stop at. Overall, very nice stop!"

"I was looking for a Houston's Heritage Place and found Glenwood Cemetery. Glenwood Cemetery in Houston is a serene and historic final resting place. It was built in 1871. It is located on the northern bank of Buffalo Bayou.

The beautifully landscaped grounds and towering lush green trees create a peaceful atmosphere. The diverse range of grave markers and monuments adds to the beauty and cultural significance. During fall this is the only place you can find beautiful vibrant autumn hues. The staff here always looks working and maintaining the cemetery.

However, parking can be a challenge here because there is no specific parking lot. I normally park in front of the office which you can find after the entrance fountain.

Whether you're visiting a loved one or exploring the city's heritage, Glenwood Cemetery is a must-see, offering solace and a glimpse into Houston's remarkable past."
