Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Hudson Pointe Nature Preserve for its scenic beauty, well-maintained trails, and accessibility for families. The river views and peaceful woodland walks are frequently highlighted as major draws. Some note the limited parking and lack of restrooms as minor drawbacks.

"Hudson Pointe Nature Preserve is a great place to hike along the banks of the Hudson River. Altogether there are about three miles of trails here. The trails are wide, well marked, scenic, and easy to follow. There are many interpretive signs along the trails to help guide you along. Overall, none of the trails are very steep and this is a moderate hike with rewarding scenery.
The “Green Trail” is probably the best of the trails to follow as it runs right alongside the banks of the Hudson. As you walk along the Hudson you can look across the river and see Moreau Lake State Park’s Big Bend Preserve hiking area. There are also many spots to fish along the trail. The “Blue Trail” also has some nice views and connects to another set of hiking trails owned by the Queensbury Land Conservancy. The other trails in the preserve are peaceful quiet walks in the woods.
The parking lot has room for about 10 vehicles. Check the trail sign in the parking lot to choose your hiking route before you head in. Maps can also be found online. This hike offers a lot and you will not be disappointed here."

"Wonderful bit of land set aside by the town of Queensbury that has you walking in the woods near the Hudson River. You start out up on the Bluffs & have the option of going down to the river itself. There are a couple of miles worth of trails here & you can connect them with other Queensbury trail systems to give yourself a longer walk in the woods & to observe the birds & other wildlife. Options to go fishing by the bay or the river, the only signs I saw were no off leash dogs, no vehicles (atv's), no camping & no open fires. Great spot for a walk, a picnic & just to get into the forest without being too far away from anything. No restrooms however (maybe a portapotty during warmer months)."

"Really fun hike just months away from West Mountain. Long enough where you get to see a lot of cool things, short enough that my 6 year old could do it.

Pro tip: There are some wooden foot brushes over the marsh land by the river that can flood over slightly and freeze during the winter (see photos). Make sure you have proper footwear or you may end up with wet feet."
