What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Carolina Renaissance Festival for its incredible atmosphere, diverse entertainment, and family-friendly fun. The jousting, live music, and unique food options are major highlights. While the cash-only policy for some vendors and potential for large crowds are noted, the overall experience is highly recommended for its immersive and engaging nature.
"We had such a fun day at the Renaissance Festival! The kids loved all the unique entertainment and performers—there’s something new around every corner. I especially enjoyed the Celtic rock band, which brought such great energy to the whole experience.
Parking was free, which was a nice bonus. Just a heads-up: the entire venue is cash-only for food and drinks, so plan ahead so you don’t have to track down an ATM.
Overall, a great family-friendly outing with tons to see, hear, and experience! Just be prepared to endure large crowds, similar to the state fair."

"If you enjoy a good experience filled with awe you have to check out this Faire! They work hard to keep the atmosphere and interaction alive.
I strongly suggest dressing up, even if its just a simple cloak or some elf ears... its so much fun and my favorite part was probably just checking out all the fashion on the visitors as much as the employees. I love how everyone was in the moment and immersed in the experience. Shows are great for a laugh and there's so many to see.
Cash is king, but there are ATMs if you don't mind waiting in line. Fair food was actually as expected or better in price and so easy to get access to despite the large crowd on our visit. Games or rides are reasonable at $4-10.
Shopping is where you might find yourself in debt. There's some really amazing things but many are on the higher prices end.
Parking is plenty and you will be easily directed as you arrive to park. I wasn't worried about the walk as we came to spend the entire day on foot but it may be a lot if your not used to getting in a lot of steps so keep that in mind when choosing shoes.
Overall, if your thinking about it, just do it!"
