What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors are consistently impressed by Downtown Huntington's unexpected vibrancy and welcoming atmosphere, shattering preconceived notions. The city's investment in streetscapes and the lively mix of shops, dining, and events create a positive and engaging experience that often exceeds expectations.
"I had never been here before, but I was expecting a small city similar to Wheeling or Steubenville. Boy, was I wrong.
West Virginia is the butt of many stereotypes, but I did not find those to be true at all in downtown Huntington. I was shocked at how nice it was on a weeknight: lots of people were out, there were things happening like live music, and I did not feel sketched out one bit.
Whatever Huntington is doing, it's the right thing. Could it be since they're home to a college and med school, or possibly a large inland port? The city has invested a lot into streetscapes and positive development, and overall my time in Huntington smashed my expectations. Keep doing what you're doing, Huntington."
