What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Heckscher Park Huntington as a beautiful and well-maintained gem, offering a peaceful escape with its scenic pond, wildlife, and excellent playground. It's a versatile spot for families, dog owners, and anyone seeking a relaxing outdoor experience, though occasional cleanliness issues in restrooms and unpredictable dog behavior have been noted.
"We brought our dog Charlie to Heckscher Park and he is now convinced he’s the unofficial mayor of Huntington. He sniffed every leaf, made about six new squirrel frenemies, and gave the pond a very serious inspection.
The fall foliage here is chef’s kiss like walking through a living postcard. The park has plenty of beautiful paths, calm water views, and space for a dog to strut around like he owns the place (Charlie certainly did). We also loved the peaceful vibe and the sense of history.
If you’re looking for a relaxing adventure with your pup — or you just want to soak in nature without having to climb a mountain — this park is an easy 10/10. We’ll definitely be back… Charlie already has his next patrol route planned!"
Matthew “Matt from the North Fork” Chizever
"The park is nice and clean, there is a new playground for kids. The autumn vibe here is great, and it's dog friendly."

"lowkey such a chill park!! like I've passed by before but I had no idea it was this nice?? we walked around and the pond was nice with lots of ducks and geese hanging around. a lot of ppl have their dogs here so don't be coming here if you're not into dogs. literally this pitbull went ham on this old lady while my friend and I were there, which was weird bc he was chill when we passed him, idk. 10/10 would recommend"
