What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve for its well-maintained trails, diverse foliage, and family-friendly atmosphere. It's a great spot for a moderate hike, birdwatching, or a picnic. Some find certain trails a bit short for hardcore hikers, and the moss falls are noted as less impressive than generic trails.
"Excellent preserve. Trails are well maintained. Part of Terry Trail is a little challenging, but the rest of the trails are easy. My only critique of the Land Trust is the runoff streams near the disc golf course need Beaver Dam Analogs or check dams to stop erosion and slow down water. I recommend this preserve highly."

"This is a wonderful little preserve on the north side of Huntsville. It's also about 10 minutes from my house so it's close enough for me to train here for longer hikes. I generally will loop the bulldog Trail and the Terry Trail to get extra mileage. There's also a nice open disc golf course with some small side trails. As you can see by the photos, this is timber rattlesnake country. This one was rather large, about 4 and 1/2 ft, but they are very shy and my son and I just watched him crawl off into the woods. I counted 14 rattles so this guy is definitely an older specimen but still beautiful."
