What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Gooseberry Mesa is celebrated for its world-class technical mountain biking on stunning slickrock, offering breathtaking views of Zion National Park. Campers appreciate the remote, peaceful atmosphere and incredible stargazing. Some visitors note the challenging terrain and the need for self-sufficiency due to limited amenities.
"Lovely peace and quiet up here with a breathtaking view overlooking Zion with the sunrise! Primitive camping is sparse, but you can find spots along the road. There is a bathroom at the Gooseberry Mesa National Recreation Trail, but there was no TP so bring your own!"

"One of my favorite trails in the world, a true classic. Getting to this central trailhead can be challenging if there’s been any recent rain or freeze / thaw cycle, safer to park at first trailhead with low clearance vehicle. My favorite loop is to leave from this trailhead, head out on south rim all the way to hidden canyon, north rim to yellow, then to point and back on southrim. Advanced skills are required to complete all features but confident intermediate riders will be fine too. Definitely not for any shade of beginner."

"We stopped at this spot while riding on the OHV trails in the area. What a great area to have adventures in. This spot has a bathroom and some info signs. Those two things are always helpful. The trails are well-marked, but some areas can be pretty challenging, so make sure you’re prepared with the right vehicle. We saw a lot of camping spots that were available.
This area is remote, so bring plenty of water and supplies and no matter where you go in the area you will have a great adventure."
