"Church is fine but CYO program doesn't even double check ages of teams for tournament 😂 so if you're in a CYO, save your money. There was one game where the referee had to ask the person at the desk to start the clock because he wasn't even playing attention to the game. He was using his phone the whole time.
EDIT The CYO director personally emailed me telling me that I forgot to mention something. He went on about how he went through so much to help me "research" some kids who were playing down. They were older kids. I know because I saw them playing in another tournament JUST THIS MONTH and the exact same kids were 4th graders playing for 10u. We happened to see them because they were the game before ours... Good job "researching"... 😂

This review is specifically for the Immaculate CYO Tournament. Our team participated in the 3rd-grade division, but we quickly realized that older kids were playing down, making it unfair—especially for teams with actual 3rd and even 2nd graders. There was no lineup verification, which led to a major imbalance in competition.
On top of that, the officiating was extremely poor. The referees let excessive physical play go unchecked, allowing grabbing and rough contact without calling fouls, while at the same time making questionable calls on young kids for things like illegal screens. The inconsistency made it nearly impossible for kids to play real basketball.
The gym is already small, limiting movement, but the lack of enforcement of basic rules made it feel more like football than basketball. If you’re looking for a well-organized, fair, and skill-focused tournament, this may not be the best choice."
