The Narrows Zion National Park

Access to The Narrows is typically via the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive. During peak season, you'll need to use the park's shuttle system to reach the Temple of Sinawava, the trailhead for the bottom-up Narrows hike.

Private vehicles are generally not allowed on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive during shuttle season (spring through fall). You'll need to park in Springdale or at the Zion Visitor Center and take the free park shuttle.

Parking within Zion National Park is very limited and fills up quickly. It's highly recommended to park in the town of Springdale and take the Springdale shuttle to the park entrance, then transfer to the Zion shuttle.

Sturdy, closed-toe water shoes with excellent grip are essential. Many visitors rent neoprene socks and canyoneering shoes from outfitters in Springdale for optimal comfort and safety.

The Narrows involves walking in water, often with a current, over slippery rocks. It can be physically demanding, especially if you go further into the canyon. Proper footwear and a walking stick are highly recommended.

Bring plenty of water, snacks, a waterproof bag for electronics, sunscreen, and a hat. Renting a walking stick is also highly advised for stability.
