What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Theodore Roosevelt Area, calling it a favorite hiking spot with surprising elevation and diverse landscapes. Many appreciate the well-marked trails, peaceful atmosphere, and friendly fellow hikers. While generally loved, some note potential trail closures due to erosion.
"This trail system has a small covered space attached to a separate his and hers bathroom and there is a picnic table on a paved area off to the side. This trail system is an out and back and is the blue trail meeting with the Spanish Pond loop marked as red. It is 1.7 miles from the Roosevelt parking lot to the Spanish Pond Trailhead using the shortest route. Where the red and blue meet is the black scenic trail which is a loop taking you down to a peninsula with a raised viewing platform. Some gorgeous views along the way with a surprising amount of elevation for florida. There are some rooty areas but overall its not bad at all. The trails are very well marked and there are several sign maps along the way and the trail plan makes sense. I walked from one entrance to the other and on the way back went down the scenic trail to the lookout platform and missed a small section of the black trail but this was 4.1 miles and took 1 hours 2 minutes which included a few stops for photos."
