The opportunity to explore a real naval destroyer and learn about its significant service history is highly valued. "Highly recommend! Fantastic tour on the USS Orleck while enjoying conversations with the veterans who sailed on her in times of battle and in times of peace keeping missions too. Truly impressive, spectacular and magnificent. Very proud that she is home here in Jacksonville. Special thanks to all the veterans who have served in the past and those who are now serving in the Navy. Thanks as well to all who donated to help restore her back to original condition and to those who still support this beautiful Naval Museum. We visit her each year and learn something new each time. Thank you all - job well done!"

"My mother and I visited for the first time today (and we're new to Jax). WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! Just an absolutely incredible experience! ALL of the volunteers are so amazing for volunteering their time for such a great museum/piece of history! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ PLEASE COME SEE THIS AND LEARN ALL ABOUT IT! IT'S SO IMPORTANT TO U.S. MILITARY HISTORY! God bless, and thank you, to ALL service people, past and present! Please be sure to donate, too, to keep this amazing part of history alive!"

"Makes you proud of the people who served our country in the Navy. Getting to the ship downtown was a bit of a challenge due to construction. Arrived and found plenty of free parking in the side lot by the ship. Had to free tickets and bought one for our granddaughter for $7.00, well worth the price. Greeted and welcomed aboard and started the tour. The Orleck is a beautiful Destroyer commissioned in 1945 that saw service in Korea and Vietnam, great stories in this old gal. First, be ready to go up and down narrow and steep stairs. Getting into the 5" rear gun turret is also a bit of a challenge if like my husband is 6' and 260 lbs. Along the way you go down and up as you proceed forward. Ship has a lot of history as well as a nice gift shop as you leave the ship. My husband had the pleasure to thank each one of the guides for their service and highly recommend this as a wonderful days historic experience. 5 ⭐ are not enough for this visit and sincerely hope you visit."
