"Girlfriend and I went here years ago for a tour, we met with the historical society and you could not meet a more passionate group of people. The man we spoke with told us how although a lot of the "finery" is cheap imitations (plaster made to look like marble, gold paint made to look like gold leaf), the goal of the theater was to give every day folk the opportunity to have a classy theatre going experience. For less than a dollar you could go watch a movie and feel like a king for a day.
And although there was still an endless list of restoration work left to be done, the team was indefatigable in their resolve to bring it back to its former glory. We never fully appreciate the dedicated souls that maintain our history and allow us to live in it everyday."
