"beautiful house, so nice to hear about things this old in the city. i went wednesday, sept 24 at 12pm and i was the only person in the tour. i paid $8 as a student (card accepted) and she didn’t ask for my id (i had it tho) she was very animated and interactive throughout the 45 mins of the tour. it is 3 rooms from the 1600s-1700s and many historical facts of queens/nyc. loved this and i would definitely do it again"

"Hidden piece of history right here in Flushing, Queens. Just blocks from Main Street and Macy's department store. Oh yeah, J Mart and the eatery in the basement. Right behind the Bowne House is also two historical landmarks. Three or four if one includes the Quaker House and Townhall and it's a couple blocks down Northern Blvd towards the entrance to the highway. But it's close enough that one can see all the historic places in one day and have snacks to munch on along the way."

"One of the few remaining bastions of historical Flushing, the Bowne House is a fascinating place to visit, if nothing else just to be able to say that you stepped foot in a building that was constructed ~400 years ago, the oldest still standing in Queens. The house holds great historical significance, first towards establishing religious freedom in the new world, but also later on in securing freedoms for those escaping slavery as a stop along the Underground Railroad. Emily was a wonderful tour guide and seemed genuinely passionate about keeping the history of both the house itself and the Bowne family alive. Definitely worth checking out!"
