"Waterfall was a trickle...very anticlimactic. I would have walked past it if my husband had not looked at the marker. A fellow hiker showed us video from her July visit and there was enough water for her to play in the pool at the base of the waterfall.
Hikers descend to the waterfall and ascend to get back to parking lot; which was very tiring for me. The entry fee for the Shenandoah Skyline is $30.00, even if just going to the waterfall. The entry fee is good for seven days and waived for military and veterans.

"The falls are beautiful. We didn't have time to continue to the Doyle River falls. Make sure you don't stop at the first falls. The main falls are bigger than the first falls you come to and only about 0.1 mile further. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that you park at the top of the trail so the hike back is all up hill. We ventured a little past the main falls so our entire hike was about 4 miles."
