I did this and in theory it's great, but it depends on the group you go with. It wasn't a leisurely trip at all, not even a little bit. We didn't get a chance to enjoy any scenery because the group I was with must've been hardcore biker because they were only interested in…

"This was such a breathtaking experience and so much fun! Andrew and his wife who host in Joseph are wonderful and extremely knowledgeable with great recommendations on other sites and things to do in the area. Layer up as it can be a little cooler in the beginning and a little more work on the ride back, but finding the sweet spot with assist was very helpful. The views and wildlife are spectacular, absolutely worth checking out!"

"Lovely experience! The owner is such a nice guy! We did the golden hour ride. It was a good ride for a leisurely, relaxing ride that wasn't too long right after we had filled our stomachs with good food. The timing was perfect and the sunset was gorgeous. It was not difficult at all as far as effort in pedaling goes (the electric assist on the way back did all the work.) Went with myself, my nearly 70 yr old mum and my 6 year old. We will definitely be back for a longer ride in the future!"

"We did the 3-hour railbike ride out of Minam in late July and it was AMAZING with beautiful scenery and along the Wallowa River. It is a moderate level of rail biking, a lot of flat areas but gradual uphill both directions, so quite a bit of pedaling. We saw a herd of about 20 elk in the river, then the guide had us stop so the elk could cross in front of us. It was such a great nature experience! We did the morning route and on the way back it was hot. Got some ice cream at the store, ate along the river, and their local little horse was walking around visiting the guests."
