What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Costco Kailua-Kona is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, praised for its wide selection of goods, especially local Hawaiian products and affordable groceries. Visitors appreciate the value at the food court and the convenience of stocking up on essentials. However, the store frequently experiences high crowds and long checkout lines, which can be a significant drawback, particularly on weekends.
"I has all the things you would expect from a costco store. This costco is usually crowded and parking may be a challenge especially during the weekends. It has a beautiful view of the ocean so you can sit at one of their outdoors tables and eat while watching the beautiful sunsets over the ocean. They make fresh sushi, pokè and some other local favorite foods. On the outside, but covered from the sun and rain is a place where you can buy their famous hotdogs and pizza, cold drinks, ice cream and other options. They have a tire center that is open until late with reasonable prices, and a gas station with low prices for costco members."

"We did some shopping at the Costco in Kona while staying on the Big Island. They had a nice variety of local products popular with tourists: chocolates ,coffee, macadamia, ect..... The Guava Cheesecake from their bakery was just fabulous ! Our biggest issue after stopping there several times was there were always more customers than the stor could handle. Long long lines and waits to get checked out, even just a half hour after they opened."

"If it wasn't for Costco I genuinely believe our family wouldn't be able to eat as well as we do throughout the month. Costco's prices are unbeatable especially with the amount of organic food they offer at an affordable price. We prefer to eat cleaner food which requires us to spend a little more money for organic food. Between Costco and Safeway we are able to accomplish this relatively affordably. Praying the Digital ID crap doesn't start being pushed here and that even if it was that Costco would push back against that infringement of our rights and freedoms. Not to mention the fact that this is ACTUALLY illegally occupied lands that were wrongly taken by the United States. Not sure people are aware but this is actually the Hawaiian Kingdom being illegally held by the United States. Legally the Hawaiian Kingdom still stands. And being aware of that is good for everyone who comes here to understand the resentment and hurts that the many Hawaiian people still carry. Compassion and grace is needed here in abundance for the plight of the Hawaiian people. Know the truth and walk lightly here."
