What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the preserve's natural beauty, abundant wildlife, and peaceful atmosphere, especially on the newer, well-maintained trails. However, many note that older perimeter trails are significantly overgrown and difficult to navigate, detracting from the overall experience.
"I don’t know what happened to now in the clouds I loved walking through the boardwalk area, it’s so insanely overgrown and unkempt it was hard to walk through. Once I got through to the other side, the paths were widened and paved which was really nice from a few years ago. I did feel a little weird as there was a random man walking through the woods with a dolly (like the kind that you move a refrigerator with)."
Sandra De La Cruz
"Perimeter trail needs to be maintained. After the SWMLC put in the gravel trails it seems not many people travel the outer trail and it has become overgrown with poison ivy. That in addition with the fallen trees makes for a difficult walking path.
Otherwise its a great trail with abundant wildlife. Very peaceful."
Aaron Bloomfield
"The new sections of the trail are great, but they only make up about 10% of the entire path. The rest is completely overgrown and impassable. This used to be my favorite place to walk my dog, but now I won't go because of the high risk of ticks and poison ivy. A day of maintenance each month would make a huge difference."
