What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kalamazoo's downtown shows great promise with its revitalization efforts, modern architecture, and vibrant local scene, particularly during events like Restaurant Week. While some visitors recall its past potential, the current focus on walkability, arts, and new businesses is creating a renewed sense of excitement. Some may find navigating promotions or the pace of change a bit challenging, but the overall sentiment is one of optimism for the city's future.
"I’m sorry to see this cool little town look so bad. When I left there 25 years ago they were rebuilding downtown and it has so much promise. Every so often I would revisit and something changed.
This isn’t a political judgement rather an observation. Whoever is making their decision (not just downtown but the surrounding areas) has made so very poor choices and now it’s showing.
I’m at a loss as to what happened to that very cool city. Just sad."

"The new building was gorgous in its modern look. 180 Water St. There for an Arts Council event at Kazoo Promise offices. Sleek but yet welcoming, their space includes the main corner. Nice glass design and lots of light. Hope to be there more as they said they want to be an Art Hop stop w their students, alums!"
