What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning, vibrant green scenery and the immersive natural beauty of the Kuilau Ridge Trail. While the trail is known for its muddy conditions, requiring proper footwear, the breathtaking views and the iconic 'Jurassic Park' connection make it a highly recommended experience for those seeking to explore Kauai's interior.
"Pretty nice and relaxing hike, but some areas had a ton of mud. My ankle height boots had mud all over them. Would recommend shoes over sandals unless you're ok with getting your feet extremely muddy."
Elaine
"This is a really nice trail to take in the beauty of the interior of the island. You can't take a bad photo. The first bit of the trail is a lot of elevation change and then the beauty starts popping around you. The vegetation is stunning and all of the greens around you are serious eye candy. There are 3 different parking areas before and after the bridge. The hike begins at the yellow gate before you cross the last bridge."
Nadine Cannell
"Our time hiking was lengthened significantly by frequent stops to bird. We heard Japanese Bush Warblers almost the entire time. I can see how the trail can get muddy quickly, but luckily, we benefited from relatively dry conditions. The out-and-back is up first, then down, so by the time you turn back around, the hike gets significantly easier. The incline is gradual and not strenuous for most."
