"Keahua Arboretum is a hidden gem, far from the typical touristy spots. It's a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path location where locals often come to swim in the river, making it feel like a true Kauai experience. The surrounding forest is lush and tranquil, with towering trees and various species of plants, creating a serene escape from the usual hustle and bustle.
The area also has a hunting trail where locals hunt wild boar, so you might catch a glimpse of the island’s more rugged side. For those who enjoy a bit more adventure, Keahua is also close to other excellent hiking trails, so it’s a great spot for outdoor enthusiasts looking to explore more of Kauai's natural beauty.
It's not overrun with tourists, which gives it an authentic, local vibe. If you're seeking a quieter, more intimate experience with nature, this place is definitely worth a visit!"

"This place is tucked away with beautiful rainbow trees. Bring some.shoe sanitizer with you. There is presence of R.O.D. in the area and they recommend cleaning your shoes as you leave to help prevent the spread."

"Not a very big area, more of a public land park with some shelters for BBQ hangouts with friends and family. You can swim in the stream if you are respectful, wear water shoes as people do fish here for trout. Loved by locals so don't be surprised if you see a few families gathering for a relaxing cookout vibe. A few very tall and thick rainbow eucalyptus trees. Also it's the start of a few off roading trails. Clean up after yourself and enjoy it for what it is!"
