What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the stunning panoramic views of Ketchikan and the unique experience of riding the funicular. The lodge's native artwork and historical displays are also frequently highlighted as enjoyable features. However, some guests have noted inconsistencies in restaurant service, with wait times sometimes being longer than expected, and occasional issues with room cleanliness or maintenance.
"Hotel: great set up and view very clean overall. Loved the history and local artifacts on the 2nd floor. Great staff at the front desk, wait staff was short staffed and food took a little longer to get to us than I would like, but it was amazing. The tram was a nice touch and not something you can experience other places. I appreciated the staff warning us Thursdays was a rough day to be downtown. They also were spot on about food choices in the area."

"Loved this lodge in Ketchikan! The location is perfect. The views of the town and harbor are amazing. It's very close to downtown which makes it convenient and it's just far enough away to be out of the way when the cruise ship zombies take over the city. The restaurant is pretty hit and miss as far as the service and food go. The shuttle makes getting to and from the airport/ferry and town super easy and convenient and the drivers are very helpful and knowledgeable. The front desk staff was also very nice and helpful. Highly recommend"

"Stayed twice over last week. The good: Restaurant food excellent (both main restaurant and pizza restaurant). Wait staffs overburdened when crowded and service suffers. Needs management/oversite. Views from hotel are awesome. Laundry facilities nice.
Improvements needed: Stayed in room 330 - sink drain slow / mostly plugged. Stayed in room 228 - both sink drain AND shower drain slow / mostly plugged. Room 228 bathroom not completely clean when we were assigned room. One dirty towel, trash on floor.
Unusual for such a nice lodge NOT to have complimentary hot coffee available in lobby for the fisherman, adventurers, tourists and travelers that get an early start. Suggest putting out a couple of coffee pots & cups at 5:30 AM. through check-in start time."
