Reviews Summary

Visitors often praise Killington Bike Park for its well-maintained trails, particularly the flowy 'Blue Magic' and challenging 'Black Magic,' comparing them favorably to top-tier parks. The resort's amenities and proximity to lodging are also highlighted as major advantages for multi-day trips. However, some guests have expressed frustration with outdated website information regarding trail status and restrictive e-bike policies on certain lifts.Reddit

"8/2/25 Want to ride black magic, website says it's open. I call a week in advance to verify, no one mentions half of it is still closed. Resort is being dishonest, super frustrating. Recommend you call and make sure "upper, middle, lower" black magic is open, or just head somewhere else. Why let the best trail go for 2 months before opening, they waste half the season.

Edit--over weekend at Massanutten Bike Park (where E-bikes aren't looked down upon) see pictures of Alpim carriers used, pay extra attention to the weight rating picture and my E-bike weight on Park bike scale. Killington needs to reevaluate their E-bike policy and not discriminate against any bike just because it's an "E-bike". Get with the times Killington.

Recently over July 4th weekend, after traveling 1000 miles to reach Killington, we had 2 major problems with the resort. 1) Killington Website showed the premier trail "Black Magic" as open and it was in fact closed, still being worked on a month after park opening. Super disappointing that there is no transparency on their website. 2) K-1 Gondola lift turned us away for ebikes even though our ebikes are 39-43 lbs, the same or comparable weight as Downhill bikes that are ALLOWED. Bike carriers on K-1 are Alpim brand rated to 66lbs yet the resort discriminates against ebikes for no apparent reason. I confirmed that ebikes (or any 2-wheeled vehicle) weighing under 66lbs are fine on these carriers directly with Alpim in France.

"Our (Bi Clip and Bi Basic bike) carriers can carry any 2-wheeled vehicle weighing less than 66 pounds.
if your electric bike weighs 60 pounds, it's OK

Best regards
Sylvie ANTHOINE

Picture is from Bike Carrier's website to confirm Killington uses the same brand and model yet does not take the time to understand that a "normal bike" vs. "ebike" does not matter! Weight restriction is stated, why not follow manufacturer technical specs?? We felt slighted on 2 fronts by the resort, Guest Services told us that "no ebike weighs less than a normal bike", but that is simply not true, DH bikes and many ebikes are well above 40lbs, most e mountain bikes top out at 55lbs, ours at most 43lbs, this makes NO SENSE!

Killington mis-represents their trail status online and discriminates against ebikes, both policies are not only ignorant to reality but also dishonest and we invested a lot of time and money to go there only to see this blatant mis-management of park features, trail status and equipment."

"Best bike park ever !
We had a blast during our 2-day bike trip to Killington. I highly recommend Blue Magic and Jump Start if like to jump and Black Magic if you are a freeride fan ! The jumps are so intuitive with the speed of the trails. Will comeback every year !!"

Joel Marineau

"Awesome. Best flow trails ever. Procession from jump start, blue magic, black magic. 40 table tops a lap on blue and black magic. Maybe 10 on jump start. Black magic is comparable to whistler A line but in way better shape and no lines."

Trail Network & Difficulty

Killington Bike Park, often dubbed "the beast of the east," boasts a comprehensive trail network designed by Gravity Logic, the same team behind Whistler Bike Park. The park is divided into three main areas, each serviced by different lifts, catering to a wide range of skill levels. Snowshed is the entry point for beginners and intermediates, focusing on progressive features and building confidence. Ramshead offers a mix of intermediate and advanced trails, including jump lines, high-speed berms, and technical terrain. The K-1 Gondola provides access to the Killington Summit, opening up a variety of trails with breathtaking views for all riders.Reddit

Popular trails like 'Blue Magic' are celebrated for their smooth flow, tabletops, and berms, making them a favorite for riders of all abilities.InstagramReddit For those seeking a freeride challenge, 'Black Magic' is a must-ride, though its full opening can sometimes be delayed into the season.Reddit The park's commitment to trail maintenance ensures a high-quality riding experience, with many comparing its flow and features favorably to renowned parks like Whistler.Reddit

When planning your visit, it's crucial to understand the trail ratings. Green circles indicate beginner trails, blue squares are intermediate, and black diamonds are advanced. The park encourages riders to progress gradually, starting on easier trails before tackling more challenging ones. Always wear appropriate protective gear, as downhill mountain biking carries inherent risks.Instagram

E-Bike Policy & Gondola Access

A significant point of discussion and potential frustration for visitors is Killington Bike Park's e-bike policy, particularly concerning access via the K-1 Gondola. While the gondola is equipped with Alpim bike carriers rated for up to 66 pounds, the resort has, at times, restricted e-bikes, regardless of their weight.Reddit This policy has been met with criticism, as many e-bikes, especially lighter trail models, fall well within the carrier's weight limit and are comparable to or lighter than many traditional downhill bikes that are permitted.Reddit

Travelers have reported being turned away from the K-1 Gondola with e-bikes, even when their weight was confirmed to be within the carrier's specifications. This lack of transparency and perceived discrimination against e-bikes has led to disappointment for visitors who have traveled long distances specifically to ride at Killington.Reddit It's highly recommended to contact the resort directly before your visit to confirm the current e-bike policy for all lifts, as these rules can change and may differ between lifts.Reddit

For those planning to ride e-bikes, it's wise to research alternative bike parks in the region that may have more accommodating policies, or to consider renting a non-electric downhill bike if e-bike access remains an issue. Always be prepared with your own tools and knowledge for minor repairs, as relying solely on resort services for e-bike specific issues might be challenging.Reddit

Lodging & Amenities

One of Killington's key advantages as a bike park destination is its proximity to quality lodging and a vibrant nightlife, setting it apart from some other New England bike parks.Reddit The resort area offers a wide range of accommodation options, from ski-in/ski-out hotels and condos to more budget-friendly motels and vacation rentals. This makes it an ideal spot for multi-day trips, allowing riders to combine challenging days on the trails with comfortable evenings.

Beyond accommodation, Killington provides a full suite of amenities to enhance the visitor experience. Several on-site dining facilities cater to various tastes and budgets, from quick grab-and-go options to sit-down restaurants perfect for refueling after a long day of riding. For those who didn't bring their own gear or want to try the latest models, bike rentals are available, and a bike shop on-site can assist with repairs and maintenance.TikTok

The surrounding town of Killington also offers a lively après-bike scene, with numerous bars and restaurants. This combination of excellent riding, convenient amenities, and a fun atmosphere makes Killington Bike Park a premier destination for downhill mountain biking enthusiasts looking for a complete vacation experience.Reddit
