Reviews Summary
Kingston City Hall is praised for its stunning 1842 architecture and its central location in downtown Kingston. Visitors often find the staff friendly and helpful, despite some noting challenges with accessing specific city services. The grand interior staircase is a particular highlight for photography enthusiasts.
"My sister & I went to Kingston City Hall to get a Kingston ID card. Sadly, we weren't able to get one, because even though we live in Kingston, NY, and it's at the end of our address, our location puts us as Ulster County residents.
It still was a nice place to visit, as I was caught-up with the architectural beauty of the building. Being new here, & disabled, I try to see as much as I can, when I'm out. The lady at the front desk was very friendly & helpful.
Would you believe it if I told you, that as I was taking pictures of the staircase, turned around to leave, I met Mayor Noble? Lol! I kid you not. He was coming in with a suit in hand, a smile on his face, with a great handshake and welcome. He even gave me some useful information, even though, technically I'm not in his jurisdiction, and whom to see in my area. I guess I should've taken a picture, but to me that's kind of rude.
I also loved the location, as I could see the mountains beautifully on the hill. I retrieved some useful pamphlets & flyers about the events going on in Kingston, and we went home. I plan to visit again."

"I’ve waited on officials to call me back and never receive calls. I have called the department of human development every day and NO ONE ANSWERS EVER! This town thinks they can just over look everything until higher ups from out of town come in. Well I guess that’s what needs to be done again. So that’s what will happen. I will have the governor come to town and push what i have been requesting!! Kingston gets millions on a write off, what they do? Bought more cop cars for public servants we don’t even trust. We want our roads paved! It was our tax money !!!"
