Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Reher Center for its authentic and deeply engaging experiences, particularly the bakery tour, which is often cited as a highlight. The knowledgeable guides and the blend of historical preservation with contemporary art are frequently mentioned positives. Some note the intimate size of the space, which contributes to its authenticity but might feel small to some.

"Fantastic bakery tour. Another review had said it was better than the Tenement Museum, and it was true! Michael's clear and detailed exposition really gave a sense of what life at the bakery and Kingston were like in the 100 years from the late 19th century on, and the Rosie's rye bread sample made for a wonderful multisensory experience. Michael also kindly waited for me when I was late to the tour---thanks again!

I'd recommend stopping by the art gallery afterwards too, to see the contemporary immigrant artists' work on display."

"Our group had a great time this morning learning about the history! Thank you to the nice lady who invited us in!"

Amanda Arjona

"Excellent experience learning about immigrant life in late 1800's early 1900's. Told entire story of the Reher family. Included brief audio clips of family and friends. While the space was small, very authentic. The upstairs living quarter weren't ready for presentation. Actually learned more than from the Tenement Museum in NYC."
