Reviews Summary

Visitors find Ke'anae Arboretum a delightful and easy stop on the Road to Hana, praising the unique rainbow eucalyptus trees and the peaceful atmosphere. While some note the signage could be improved and the arboretum is small, most agree it's a worthwhile, free natural break.

"Great little walk stop. Pull off directly to the left hand side of the road, not the right as there is no parking on that side. Head through the gate, and begin your journey. It’s about a ten minute walk or so into the arboretum, and here you’ll find all sorts of trees and plants from all over the world. There are name tags along the path, and feel free to branch off the main road to explore.

You can swing in and peek at the rainbow eucalyptus trees, and then turn around and head back. Or you can continue down the pathway, and see a slew of other trees and plants. With my love for nature, I could easily spend 2 hours here enjoying the unique aroma all the plants and trees bring with them. So pick your path, but no matter what, if a spot is open, I suggest you stop. There’s a small creek there you can cool off with, not big enough to go swimming, but enough to cool your feel in before hitting the road for more adventures."

"This was a great little stop along the Hana Highway to see some local plant life. The signage could be better as it is in the pin of a hairpin curve. Good news is parking is just past the park, in the pullouts opposite side of the arboretum. The arboretum itself is fairly small with a lot of variety but the signage is lacking indicating a little lack of attention. The overall walk to the end and back was probably about 10-15 minutes. There are some amazing rainbow eucalyptus trees that made the stop even better. Worth the little to no effort to visit."

SMorris Travels

"Great little spot off the side of the road. We almost missed it, not that well marked, have to walk towards the gate up from the parking area. You have to follow the path down. Its a little bit of a walk but not bad at all. Lots of plants and trees to look at. Definitely worth stopping for. Just gorgeous!"
