Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher for its engaging exhibits, particularly the playful otters and interactive touch tanks, making it a hit with families. The accessibility and friendly staff are also frequently mentioned positives. However, some reviews note that the restrooms could be cleaner and that entry times can be strictly enforced, leading to potential waits.

"Great place to visit with kids if you're in Carolina Beach or Kure Beach. A bit of a drive if you're in Wilmington or Wrightsville Beach.

Family of four will run $60 w/o discounts. Good for 1-3 hrs of entertainment, depending on the programs and how fast you walk through the exhibit.

We visited in October on a weekday. Concessions were closed so I'd recommend eating before if you're going mid week -- there's nowhere to eat that's convenient. Otter exhibit was also closed. You'll get some of that when you're not coming in the summer.

Our kids liked the playground and the large fish tanks. My 4 yo wanted to move quickly, so me mindful of your littles."

"Visited with my 19 year-old daughter. Not too pricey, $15 each. I really like aquariums. We were in Fort Fisher for the day on the beach. It was a good ending to our day. Easy in and out. Small but good things to look at. Few of the displays were in transition. Several excellent tanks. Cool sharks. It was worth going."

John Myers

"We took our family here for Father’s Day! You do need to purchase a pass ahead of time for entrance, but this was well worth it for us!

Loved the small intimate areas for learning! My favorite area was the ray tank. My daughter loved the otters and the alligators when you first come through the aquarium! My husband appreciated all there was to offer here.

Even has a nice outdoor play area and a concessions stand to eat! I chose to bring my own snacks, but the food smelled so good! Restrooms are accessible by stairs and elevator, for those that need that information. Very wheelchair friendly, even the outdoors exhibits.

The gift shop was CRAZY COOL. We grabbed a magnet for the fridge. A must-stop place even if you’re going to the beach. We loved this place very much, even took home a mermaid 🧜🏼‍♀️"
